About Elterwater

Elterwater is a small lake situated in the Great Langdale valley and lies half a mile (800 m) south-east of the village of Elterwater.

The lake is 1030yd (930m) long and varies in width up to a maximum of 350yd (320m), and has a maximum depth of 20ft (6m).

The river Brathay outflow from Elterwater flows south to join Lake Windermere, near Ambleside.
