About Devoke Water Devoke Water is a small lake which lies on Birker Fell in the mid-west region of the English Lake District, 1 km to the west of the road between Ulpha and Eskdale, at an altitude of 770 feet (223 m). It is reached via a bridle track and contains an interesting two storey stone boathouse and a ruined stable. An outlet in the north west at Black Beck plunges over rocks down a 26 ft (8 m) cascade, towards the River Esk. |
