Victory Hall

Built in 1929 for the people of Broughton in Furness by Sir Robert Rankin, Lord of the Manor of Broughton Tower.

In its heyday the Victory Hall embodied all that was best and forward looking and set a standard for other village halls to emulate.

A Millennium Project to give the building a face-lift and a new lease of life was launched in 1996 with money raised from a wide range of sources and was completed in June 2002.

Heron Theatre

The Heron is a small theatre housed in a listed building originally one of the old two-room Grammar schools of the 18th century.

The attractive heron sculpture is the work of local artist, Paul Woodmass and the theatre was officially opened by H.R.H Princess Alexandra in July 2001.

The theatre runs a regular fortnightly programme of plays, revues, lectures and musical events which are open to the public.
